And how is he even god tier to begin with? Cabba and Caulifla and trunks are all tailless hybrids and with training were able to reach god tier. Fine. Toei hax + genetically gifted = godly powerful. I'm sure if goten and kid trunks kept training they'd be really strong too But how do we explain trunks' power boost in the middle of the saga? There's no way a day of training with vegeta is enough. Because I seem to remember Black still besting Rage Trunks. And I think it's just writing, like Prince said. Toei didn't think about the specifics, they merely thought of what looked cool and did it. It's the same thing for Gohan, who trained for, what, less than a day? And he went from his Boo Saga Ultimate power level to competing with the current Super Saiyan Blues; at the very least, he's RoF Blue tier, and that's still a gigantic leap in power.

Google Chrome Favourite Manga Hokuto no Ken, Berserk, Dragon Ball, Rurouni Kenshin, Attack on Titan, Kuroshitsuji	If they had bothered to mention something along the lines of Trunks receiving some powerful ki from Vegeta that enables him to battle and survive in the SSJB bracket then that might have provided some kind of substantive explanation. It would raise several questions involving the personality of Vegeta not allowing to just hand out power and the nature of ki transference, but you would have a solid foundation in which to base notion of Trunks holding his ground against Zamasu and Black. Super Saiyan Rage could have been rationalised along the same lines as Goku's body acclimating to the feel of god ki, except in this case the god ki of Vegeta has intermixed with Trunks'. The original script doesn't offer much of a reason for why Trunks became so powerful. In one episode he's going head to head with SSJ3 Goku and then the next he's standing shoulder to shoulder with SSJB after some brief image training and some one sided sparring with Vegeta. Nothing about it really makes sense. To be fair, neither does Goku going from a power level of 90,000 to 3,000,000 for no reason except to arbitrarily raise him up to comparable status with Freeza in his final state.

Goku simply took the majority of Black's blast. It's the same in Z, Super Boo punches base kid Trunks before he fuses with Goten and Trunks jumps back up says "ouch" and calls him an idiot. Trunks' head should have come off. It's just cool to watch, I don't think we're supposed to suddenly believe ssj2 Trunks is blue tier after he was one shot by ssj3 Goku.

Problem is Trunks Performance against Future Zamasu. We saw before that Zamasu was on par with Super Saiyan Blue Goku. Then when Trunks fought him he did significantly better than Goku has. Trunks landed multiple blows, stabbed him and fired a Final Flash. He also landed a blow against Rose Black. Edited by Vegerot1990, Oct 21 2017, 05:04 PM.

I feel like you're grasping at straws. Goku Black was about to attack Goku when he was stopped by Trunks. Am I supposed to believe that Black was suppressing himself to Trunks's level when he was aiming for Goku, only to be surprise blocked by Trunks, which is to say he didn't see him coming? I would also like to know how Goku "took most of the attack". superperfectnerd Zamasu isn't blue tier. He's just immortal so he can fight anyone really, they aren't able to hurt him with attacks that should hurt him. Yeah, he is blue tier, as he straight up blocked Goku's attack on him, and was able to keep up with his speed. I'd recommend watching their initial encounter again. Ssj2 Trunks is not ssjb tier, whatever headcanon you have to create to make that work is better than Trunks being in that league at ssj2. It's exactly the same as feat wise ssjb Goku > Merged Zamasu but that's bulls*. So are these feats from Trunks, just ignore them or Black was holding back as soon as he quickly realised Goku had moved. His reactions are just that fast and doesn't want to kill his play thing.
